New lights, filter, plants, and fish.

The new light is a Current USA brand Satellite Power Compact Fixture w/ Lunar Light 2 x 65w (130w) Dual daylight Dual actinic. The filter is a Marineland Penguin 350 gph dual bio-wheel power filter. The plants are wisteria, micro sword, java fern, baby tears, rotala, cabomba, and crypto. I have added 1 female Gold Dust Molly and 8 true SAE's. Here is a picture of the planted tank.

At 4.48 watts per gallon the rotala is really showing its pink color. This is my favorite plant so far. I am still planning the aquascape. I would like to see what grows well from the plants that I have now. I would like to get some glosso or riccia, but the local pet stores do not carry them. I may end up buying some plants on-line.

I was lucky enough to find a fish store that carried true siamese algae eaters (SAE). I added 10 to the tank. 2 died suddenly, but after a few days the remaining 8 are eating and have become very active. In addition to being greate algae eaters, these lively fish are fun to watch. They also school in numbers of 4 or 5. Here is a picture of the SAE's.

My next step is to build a CO2 injection system. I have a small Nutrafin pre-built system, but I would like to upgrade to a larger bottle.
